Site: NDA Study — ndastudy.com (NDA exam prep & Indian Defence news)
We respect the trust you place in NDA Study. This page explains, in plain and simple language, how we use cookies and similar trackers, what rights you have (under GDPR, CCPA, and India’s data rules), and exactly how you can control or remove cookies.
Quick summary — the short version
- We use cookies to make the site work, save your preferences, improve content, and show relevant news or ads.
- For non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising), we ask for your clear consent before they are set. This is required by GDPR-style rules and similar guidance. ([ICO])
- If you are a California resident, you have additional rights (for example, to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information). ([California Attorney General])
- In India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) requires clear consent and responsible handling of personal data — cookies that collect personal data fall under this law. ([DataGuidance]
1) What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files saved by your browser on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and device identifiers. They help a website remember choices (like language), keep you logged in, or show content you might like.
2) Why does the NDA Study use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep the site working correctly (essential features).
- Remember study preferences, saved quizzes, or your selected topics.
- Learn how people use our pages so we can improve lessons and news.
- Show relevant Indian defence news and, where used, targeted ads or partner offers.
3) Types of cookies we use (simple table)
- Essential / Strictly necessary — needed for the site to work (login sessions, security). No consent required.
- Performance & Analytics — tells us which pages are popular and how people move through the site (e.g., Google Analytics). We only set these after you consent. ([ICO])
- Functionality — remember language, saved quizzes, and layout. Set with consent (except where strictly needed).
- Marketing & Advertising — help show relevant offers or ads across sites. Set only if you consent (or you use an opt-out where applicable).
- Embedded content — e.g., YouTube embeds; these may set cookies from third parties.
Example cookies: Google Analytics (analytics), YouTube (embedded), Ad partners (marketing).
4) Legal grounds and compliance (GDPR, India DPDP, CCPA / CPRA)
- GDPR (EU/EEA & UK users): Non-essential cookies require informed, specific, freely given consent. Essential cookies that make the service work do not need consent, but must be explained. Many regulators say analytics and marketing cookies need consent (they are not “strictly necessary”). ([ICO], [The Data Privacy Group])
- India (DPDP Act): Personal data collected via cookies is covered by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. That law and practical guidance mean you should perform a cookie audit, publish a granular cookie policy, and collect consent where personal data is involved.
- CCPA / CPRA (California): Cookies that collect personal information can be covered. California residents have the right to know what is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal data (we provide mechanisms for this when applicable).
- Important: Consent must be freely given and not bundled or forced (you can’t make users accept non-essential cookies as a condition to access content). Regulators emphasise this.
5) Your rights (simple action list)
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK (GDPR-style rights):
- Right to access data we hold about you.
- Right to correct (rectify) wrong data.
- Right to erase (delete) certain personal data.
- Right to restrict processing or object to certain uses (like direct marketing).
- Right to withdraw consent at any time.
- Right to data portability in certain cases.
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA):
- Right to know categories and sources of personal information collected.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
If you are in India:
- Rights under the DPDP Act include access, correction, and removal in certain cases, and the right to withdraw consent for processing personal data. We follow those principles for cookies that involve personal data.
6) How to give, refuse, or withdraw cookie consent (easy steps)
- Cookie banner/consent tool — On your first visit, you’ll see a cookie banner. Use Preferences to accept only what you want (essential, analytics, marketing).
- Change settings later — Use the “Cookie settings” link in the page footer anytime to change your choices.
- Browser controls — You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). Note: blocking essential cookies may break site features.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — If your browser or extension sends the GPC signal, we will respect it (e.g., for California opt-outs where applicable). ([WIRED])
- Opt-out of advertising — Use industry opt-outs (e.g., Google Ads settings) or links in our cookie settings panel.
7) How to exercise your rights (contact steps)
To make a request (access, delete, opt-out, etc.):
Email: support@ndastudy.com
Please include: your name, email address used on the site (if any), what right you want to exercise (e.g., “Delete my data” or “Do not sell my info”), and any proof of identity if we ask for it to confirm the request.
For California residents: you may submit a request via the subject line “CCPA Request” to the same email. We’ll respond as required by law.
8) Third parties and embedded content
We use trusted third-party services (e.g., Google Analytics, YouTube, ad networks). Those services may place cookies and process data according to their own policies. We list those providers in our full privacy policy and in the cookie-management panel, and we only use providers that follow accepted privacy practices. You can control these via our cookie settings or their own opt-out tools.
9) Retention and logs
We keep cookie consent logs and necessary records to show compliance (who consented, when, what choices). Each cookie also has its own lifespan — you can see these in the cookie table in the footer/settings panel. Where personal data is stored, retention follows the minimum needed for the purpose and legal requirements (DPDP/GDPR/CCPA considerations).
10) Security
We use standard security measures to protect personal data collected via cookies (encryption where appropriate, limited access). No system is 100% secure — if you suspect misuse, contact support@ndastudy.com immediately.
11) Children
NDA Study is meant for older teens and adults preparing for NDA exams. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the ages required by law in your country. If you believe we have data from a child, please contact support to request removal.
12) Complaints
- EU/EEA/UK users: you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (for example, the ICO in the UK). We’ll cooperate with any lawful request.
- India: under the DPDP Act, remedies are available; you may also contact the relevant authority set up under Indian law.
- California residents: You may contact the California Attorney General’s office for CCPA issues.
13) Changes to this cookie page
We may update this policy to reflect new laws, services, or site features. When we do, the Last updated date will change. We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
